LEARNING BOBBY
I am a Multi-Media Journalist at WALB News10 in Albany Georgia
WALB News10 is the top station in our DMA. I have a passion for telling creative stories that matter to my community. I have been an MMJ with WALB since February 2019. I’ve become proficient in gathering facts and holding officials accountable for their actions. My passion is telling captivating character driven feature pieces. I’ve mastered producing demonstrative live shots independently.
I spent the first year at WALB News10 as a day side reporter. I’ve since took my skills to the next level and served as the lead night side reporter for the past six months. I’ve learned to respond quickly to breaking news scenes and gathering the latest information on the spot . Multi-Media Journalist’s at WALB News10 are required to produce three stories and deliver live shots daily. My quality of work has never been compromised while working under tight deadlines.
As a visual storyteller, I have an eye for photography. Since I was a child, I have either been painting, drawing, molding, sculpting or dabbling in the arts in one way or another. During my time at Auburn University at Montgomery, I took visual art classes to enhance my skills as an artist. They have since grown. I desire to capture the perfect lighting and angle with my video camera but also with my iPhone. I post these photos on my social media pages and send them to our web team.
I am a huge fan of movies and films. I bring my love for the cinema into my work as a visual journalist. I love to breakdown character development, use of props and overall storytelling in films. I bring those traits into my work as a journalist to truly tell the best character driven stories that I can. I also collect screen used film props and wardrobe as a hobby. I understand the value of a prop both on a Hollywood set or within a news story.
WALB News10 is my second on-air television job. I spent a year in Casper, Wyoming as an MMJ before coming to Albany, Georgia. Before beginning my career in-front of the camera I started behind the camera. I worked as a News Content Specialist for almost two years at WSFA 12News in Montgomery, Alabama.
